Hello Cyberworld! I'm Shawnda. I'm in my 6th year of incarceration. I've been down since I was 14. I now live in Memphis, but I am originally from Burton, Michigan. I grew up fishing on the Great Lakes. My grandpa was a charter captain. I've not been home in so long. I've many new interests now. I love poetry and writing. I write poetry, short stories and such. I'm working on my second screenplay. I write on many topics, but my two of choice are gun control and school violence. I've found that writing makes for a great escape from the everyday dreariness of this place. I love volleyball! I play in the tournament we have here. I love to watch baseball. The New York Yankees are my team. I also enjoy reading (escape route #2). Dean Koontz is my favorite author. For four years, ages 14-18, I was segregated. So, I'm now the queen of useless knowledge. TV, movies, awards and actors, ask me anything. Music is also a huge part of my life. I listen to just about everything. I like Eminem, Linkin Park and Papa Roach. I also like Boyz II Men, rap, country and all Latin music.
